After a week of record highs, you can expect warmer weather this weekend before temperatures return to normal in time for Thanksgiving.

Temperatures will stay in the low 80s beginning Friday, with highs on both Friday and Saturday of 81 and 80 on Sunday. Lows will stay in the low 50s for all three days, according to the National Weather Service.

The unusually high temperatures this late in the year are due to a strong high pressure system over the Valley. The high pressure system will remain over the weekend, but after Monday you can expect temperatures to return to normal, in the low 70s, just in time for Thanksgiving.

Temperatures over the last week broke records when Monday's high of 87 degrees beat the 1990 record of 86 degrees.

Tuesday saw a high of 88 degrees, also breaking the previous record high of 86 degrees in 1949.
